Intraversed celebrates Indigenous Literacy Day

As proud supporters of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, Intraversed Pty Ltd are holding an online “Learn, Share and Support” drive. The organization encourages all their contacts and networks to join them in raising funds to help raise indigenous literacy rates in Australia.
Intraversed believe that everyone deserves access to what they need to succeed. For most of us, that means having effective employment environments and active social networks. But for some indigenous Aussies, getting what they need to succeed still equates to more basic things the rest of us have taken for granted, like better education and literacy aids.
For this reason, Intraversed are proud supporters of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and this Indigenous Literacy Day, Sept 4th, we’re encouraging our colleagues, contacts, friends and clients to dig deep and support the work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
The ILF provide 280 remote communities across Australia with new, culturally appropriate books and support an early literacy program encouraging reading in children under five. They also help get books translated into the first languages of Indigenous communities and support community literacy projects that have seen 88 published books, written by indigenous community members, with support from renowned Australian authors and illustrators.
Mark Atkins, co-founder of Intraversed, says “In a country as wealthy and developed as Australia, no child should grow up without access to the education they need to succeed. As language specialists, we know the power of reading and literacy and we want to do our part to ensure Australia’s indigenous kids get every chance possible to succeed. That’s why we support the literacy programs of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. We hope our colleagues, partners, friends and wider community will all jump on board this Indigenous Literacy Day.”
