Intraversed encourage clients and colleagues to enjoy the Indigenous Literacy Foundation’s NAIDOC week video

SYDNEY, NSW, 9 November 2020

  • November 8-14 is NAIDOC week in Australia, a week of events and activities in celebration of the First Nations Peoples of our country.

  • The Indigenous Literacy Foundation, proudly supported by Intraversed, are airing videos on this year’s NAIDOC Week Theme Always Was, Always Will Be, available for viewing on their YouTube channel, to mark the week.

From the Indigenous Literacy Foundation’s Website:

“Sunday 8 November marks the beginning of NAIDOC Week, a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, languages and histories. This week is a time to listen and learn from the voices and stories of First Nations People – who are part of the oldest living cultures on the plant.

This year’s theme, Always Was, Always Will Be, encourages us to celebrate the true history of our country. For over 65,000 years, this land has been lived on and looked after by First Nations Peoples – Australia’s first storytellers, first artists, and first explorers. We encourage everyone to take this week as an opportunity to acknowledge our shared past, and look together towards the future.”

Intraversed are proud supporters of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, because very Australian child deserves access to what they need to succeed.

Co-founder Mark Atkins, says
“We encourage all our clients, colleagues and friends to participate in NAIDOC week activities, by attending online events, reading recommended books by indigenous authors or watching some of the great films made by First Nations writers, actors and filmmakers. We believe everyone has much to learn from the wisdom and world view of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creators and hope that NAIDOC week gives every Australian the opportunity to enjoy, learn and support indigenous peoples.”

Details about NAIDOC celebrations are available on the NAIDOC week website here.

Co-founder and senior consultant, Terry Smith, says
“As active supporters of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, we know the valuable engagement they have in preserving cultures and languages across the country. We hope everyone makes the time to visit their YouTube Channel to watch, learn and enjoy the stories, interviews and culture being celebrated there. And please, help amplify the voices of indigenous people on your social media platforms by sharing work that you’ve found inspiring, moving or informative.”
